REFLECTION

My AHT (Architecture History and Theory) module is about to be completed. This module has been an engaging experience for me. It has provided me with a broad understanding of the development of architecture from ancient times to the present. The lectures and research have deepened my appreciation for historical buildings, offering a nuanced perspective for completing assignments.

While the module wasn't particularly difficult, it did present its challenges. During Project 1, I found the most significant challenge to be communication among group members. Due to the relatively large size of the project group, issues arose in terms of communication and task allocation. Personal and Social Competence was the TGC I attained in this project. Despite already knowing some members of the group, this task allowed me to learn more about them. They demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility in completing assignments, actively participating in discussions, and contributing to the work, making me very satisfied with our group. We were also able to collaborate to propose solutions when problems arose, showcasing a responsible group dynamic.

In addition, the second project was an individual assignment where we had to draw buildings, research information about them, and compile everything on an A4 paper. Through this assignment, I gained insights into design styles and features from different eras and expanded my knowledge of architectural history. Furthermore, I improved my skills in arranging icons and creating infographics. In this unit, I also acquired a TGC which is lifelong learning. I developed time management skills as I had to juggle assignments from other modules during this project, yet I calmly organized my time to avoid feeling overwhelmed.

In conclusion, this course has been a journey of self-discovery and academic growth. It not only equipped me with architectural knowledge but also provided valuable experience in teamwork and project management, which will resonate in my future work.

PERSPECTIVE

Using the learning platform for navigation and experiencing both online and in-person courses has constituted a unique and transformative journey this semester. The digital environment has provided a convenient and flexible platform for accessing course materials, participating in online meetings, and submitting assignments. I believe there are differences between online lectures and traditional classroom settings; attending in-person lectures provides valuable face-to-face interaction opportunities, creating a dynamic learning atmosphere. Although online lectures are convenient, they lack the same level of interactivity, requiring students to maintain discipline to avoid falling behind.

The integration of these learning modalities has enriched my educational experience, offering a comprehensive approach that caters to different learning styles. This semester has emphasized the advantages of blended learning, combining the convenience of technology with the irreplaceable elements of face-to-face engagement.

I hold great respect for my program coordinator, Dr. Lia. She has played a crucial role in shaping my learning experience this semester. Her dedication to the subject is evident in the meticulously designed courses and engaging lectures, creating an environment that sparks academic interest. Her passion for the subject is infectious, making each lecture a captivating exploration of architectural history and theory. Dr. Lia's commitment to student success is evident in effective communication and the encouragement of critical thinking.

I also want to express my gratitude to my tutor, Mr. Azim, who provided professional evaluations and advice on my projects. Whenever I encountered challenges during projects, he was always able to pinpoint issues clearly.
