THEORIES OF ASIAN ARCHITECTURE

Using the themes of tradition, modernity and globalisation, this module allows students to explore architectural developments in Asia, focusing on the interplay of history, culture and society in shaping architectural design and construction techniques. Through authentic learning experiences, students will connect classroom knowledge with real-world applications, develop an appreciation of important traditional values, and critically assess contemporary issues of urbanisation and cultural sustainability. By engaging in research, students will deepen their understanding of Asian architecture and urbanisation and interpret the language of Asian architecture through the production of research posters and oral presentations.
