REFLECTION
End of the semester, this module has been a valuable experience in understanding how architecture can respond thoughtfully to climate, site, and environmental challenges. Through lectures, case studies, site visits, and design work, I learned how to apply passive and active green strategies such as building orientation, natural ventilation, daylight use, and renewable energy in ways that improve spatial quality while reducing environmental impact. I also developed the ability to explain sustainable design ideas clearly through both drawings and presentations, which will be important in professional practice (TGC: Communication Skills 4.1).
I work with my classmated and get feedback from tutor helped me see problems from different angles and refine my designs. This process showed me the value of groupwork and shared problem-solving in creating stronger design outcomes (TGC: Interpersonal Skills 5.1). I also became more aware of my own design process, taking time to reflect on decisions and think about how to better integrate sustainability into future projects. This has strengthened my ability to assess my own work and keep improving (TGC: Intrapersonal Skills 6.2).
In conclusion, this module has deepened my understanding of green design strategies and strengthened my commitment to creating buildings that are environmentally responsible, practical for users, and sensitive to their context.
