PROJECT 1: Research Article (50% Group)

For this group assignment, we need form teams of 5-6 members to research and present a 3000-5000 word essay on an assigned theme exploring Malaysia's water landscape. Our task includes analyzing historical, cultural, and modern challenges related to water management using relevant data, case studies, and visuals. We’ll examine topics such as traditional practices, cultural significance, modern innovations, and sustainable solutions, reflecting on future challenges and opportunities for Malaysia's water management. Each member will contribute specific tasks like research, writing, editing, or creating visuals, which will be detailed in an individual work contribution report.

REFLECTION

This assignment has been an insightful exploration of the intricate relationship between water and the built environment, particularly within Malaysia’s context. As an architecture student, it has deepened my understanding of how historical, cultural, and modern challenges in water management shape the sustainability of our designs and urban landscapes. By analyzing the theme, I gained valuable insights into integrating sustainable water practices and innovations into architectural projects. Reflecting on the balance between traditional methods and modern solutions has inspired me to envision designs that respect cultural heritage while addressing contemporary environmental challenges. This experience has highlighted the critical role architects play in shaping a sustainable future.
