In this module introduces students to the principles and practices of creating environmentally responsible urban spaces. Focusing on the concept of net zero living, it explores strategies such as renewable energy, urban farming, sustainable building design, and waste repurposing to reduce environmental impact. Through case studies of Malaysian and international cities, students will examine sustainable theories, models, and frameworks, and apply them to real-world challenges such as climate change, food security, energy efficiency, waste management, and water conservation. Combining academic insight with industry perspectives, this module encourages multidisciplinary collaboration and innovative solution-making, equipping students with the knowledge and skills to contribute positively to a sustainable built environment.
